Our many years of experience have taught us that utilizing the resources of a financial planner dedicated to your issues can greatly reduce the fear and worry you may associate with financial planning decisions. While we cannot guarantee the success of every investment you make, we feel we have a great chance of helping you overcome whatever fear or worry you may have that's keeping you from making financial decisions.
We understand the challenges families face today. From managing debt to saving for college to retirement, any one of these personal finance challenges can be overwhelming all by itself. Our commitment is to utilize all of our resources to help you prioritize and pursue your goals.
The Four Pillars of Financial Planning
We approach financial planning with the philosophy represented by The Four Pillars of Financial Planning: Insurance, Income, Investment, and Estate Planning. We believe in this so strongly that we've constructed the K in our logo to be a graphic representation of the Four Pillars.
Insurance
Unlike many financial planning firms, we treat insurance as the foundation upon which to base your financial plan, and therefore we address it first. Nothing can derail your financial progress faster than an unexpected accident or illness when you're underinsured, or the mailman slips on your walkway and sues you for a million dollars. These examples are, of course, hypothetical; but we believe minimizing your exposure to these types of risks should be a vital part of your financial plan.
Income
Once your life and belongings are secured with solid base of insurance, the second pillar, Income, is addressed. This is a crucial component of your financial plan; unless you're independently wealthy, without income it is virtually impossible to plan for the future. We'll look at budgeting, intelligent ways of borrowing money, debt management and paydown, and various things you might utilize to increase your income and ensure that it keeps pace with the rising cost of living.
Investments
Everyone seems to understand that if you start young and invest prudently your investments will grow and eventually become something you may eventually be able to live off. Unfortunately, financial, political, social and demographic trends have made this simple dream more and more difficult to achieve. If you consider yourself young, careful financial planning is more important than ever if you want to live comfortably in later life. If you think of yourself as no longer young, we say it's never too late to start! Your financial goals are not necessarily impossible, and will probably not materialize out of nothing!
Estate Planning
Whether or not you're “on top of your game” when it comes to money and finances, most people find the topic of estate planning difficult to confront. A desire to leave a legacy for your children is frequently a motivation to get down to the work of estate planning. Even if you think you may be unable to leave a legacy, you probably don't want to leave your children with debts and other unfinished business. Estate planning is important, and we'll help you take the guess work out of it.
